About
Biography
Formed in 1983 by Art Villarreal. Cronk and Perez recruited from local band "Byfist", later joining up with drum wunderkind Frank Ferreira. The band set out to create and perform a unique brand of Metal. Karion contributed, along with their counterparts, to the local circuits of San Antonio and Austin performing at Villa Fontana, Cameo Theater, The Ritz, The Conquistador, The Continental, Randy's Rodeo, among other venues. In 1984, a six song demo was recorded at Sound Cube Studio in converse Tx., Along with the audio tracks, there will be a video of Karion's last live performance at the Villa Fontana March 8, 1986. An extensive recount of the band's three year experience will be documented in the liner notes.
Description
Karion is one of several prominent bands of the legendary golden era of Texas Metal circa 1983-1986. The band is derivative of local metal pioneer band S.A. Slayer.
